Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 7:00 PM until 8:00 PMCentral Daylight Time UTC -05:00

Starting times in other timezones: 5 PM Pacific / 8 PM Eastern

The world of documentary filmmaking is changing. New tools, new platforms, and new ways of working are opening up different paths for filmmakers.

In this session, we will explore:

    • • The shift toward smaller, more agile production models
    • • How filmmakers build sustainable and flexible careers
    • • Ways to balance creativity, income, and purpose in a rapidly changing industry

At Maharishi International University, we approach filmmaking as both a craft and a way of life. Our program supports filmmakers in developing the skills, awareness, and adaptability needed to navigate this evolving landscape.

Bring your questions. We will leave time for open conversation and a Q&A.

The session will be led by Stuart J. Tanner (BBC, Nat Geo, Amnesty International Award) and Amine Kouider (David Lynch Foundation, Playing for Change), program directors of MIU’s MFA in Documentary Filmmaking.
